Abstract:
We will discuss old and new results on the standard left-invariant sub-Riemannian structure on the group of motions of the plane:
- Sub-Riemannian geodesics and minimizers,
- Cut locus,
- Spheres,
- Metric lines,
- Isometries, homogeneous and equioptimal geodesics,
- Applications to robotics and vision.
