Title: On the existence of invariant solutions of PDEs

Abstract:
To compute solutions of a system of PDEs invariant with respect to (higher) symmetries, one join the equations at hand and the vanishing conditions for the generating functions of the symmetries under consideration. Such an overdetermined system is generally compatible. The talk will discuss papers [1] and [2] that offer explanations of this fact.
